Production process

The core of the high-titanium slag production line is a 3150 KVA submerged arc furnace (electric arc furnace) smelting process, mainly consisting of four stages: raw material pretreatment, electric furnace smelting, slag-iron separation, and product processing.

1. Raw Material Pretreatment

Ilmenite and reducing agents (coke/anthracite) are crushed, screened, and mixed according to the specified ratio to ensure uniform particle size and improve smelting efficiency.

2. Electric Furnace Smelting

The mixed materials are added to the submerged arc furnace.  The high temperature (1600-1800℃) generated by the electric arc between the electrodes facilitates the reduction reaction. The iron oxides in the ilmenite are reduced to pig iron, and titanium is enriched to form high-titanium slag.

3. Slag-Iron Separation

After smelting, the density difference between pig iron and high-titanium slag is utilized to separate them through the iron outlet and slag outlet, achieving solid-liquid separation.

4. Product Processing

The discharged high-titanium slag is cooled, crushed, and screened, then classified into finished products; the pig iron can be recycled as a byproduct.

This production line features high temperature and high energy consumption, requiring supporting flue gas purification and waste heat recovery systems to meet environmental protection and energy saving requirements.
